Best Land View of the Living Barge: Gateway Park South, 8th Ave. S.  and S. Portland Street in South Park

Location of the Living Barge: Gateway Park North, at the end of 8th Ave. S. on the Georgetown side of the Duwamish (there is no actual access onto the barge).

Waterway Park, a good place to put-in canoes or kayaks, is at the north end of 10th Ave. S. at Kenyon St - one block south and east of Gateway Park South. (an informative article on paddling Elliott Bay and the Duwamish, from the Mountaineers)

The South Park Neighborhood Center, location for the tile-making workshop, is at 8201 10th Ave. S. at Southern St.

The County Line, South Park's favorite dive bar, is located at 8456 Dallas Ave. S., just south of the South Park (16th Ave S) Bridge at the intersection of Dallas, Sullivan and 14th Ave. S.

The 14th Avenue South Business District, South Park's Main Street is also just south of the South Park Bridge.

Cesar Chavez Park, where the plants from the Living Barge will be replanted, is just west of SR 99 on Cloverdale St.

A Note on Directions: Although it's shorter to take SR 99 all the way to South Park, we like turning right onto East Marginal Way just before the 1st Ave S Bridge and then crossing the South Park (16th Ave S) Bridge to get into South Park. Going this way will put you right into "downtown" South Park, whereas trying to exit off 99 can be a little confusing.
